The landscape paintings are titled VIRIDITAS: the life-giving force that connects us to the land. Everything is nature, including us humans. The land communicates its needs to us in its own genuine way, if we take a step back and listen. However, we often resist this connection, dissolving the union instead of being present and collaborating. We have placed nature outside ourselves, creating an impossible relationship.

Simultaneously, this relationship gives rise to APORIA: “In the impossible, there is the possible,” as Jacques Derrida described it. “Aporia” is a philosophical term for contradiction and the constantly moving and changing. It tells us that relationships that seem impossible, such as those between land and humans, are in constant motion.

The third underlying concept of the exhibition that I want to emphasize is the ENTANGLEMENT of quantum physics. Reality does not consist of separate, independent entities; rather, everything is intertwined. There is no absolute boundary between cause and effect, here and there, present and future—everything is relational and dynamically interconnected. The exhibition's installation, titled "Entanglement," is a collaboration with fashion designer Hilda Landström Ferm.

Åsa Landström (b. 1962) is originally from Norrbotten, north of Sweden. After working as an architect and designer, she works full-time as an artist in Stockholm. Mainly with painting and preferably thematically. A recurring theme in both the previous sculpture series “Søren & his friends” and now in the painting is coined by the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, “a reverse care of our inner self”. At the same time, this relationship gives birth to APORIA; “In the impossible there is the possible”, as Jacques Derrida described it. “Aporia” is a philosophical expression for contradiction and for the constantly moving and changing. “Aporia” tells us that relationships that seem impossible, such as between land and man, are at the same time in constant motion.
